Bonus Abuse / Promo Fraud
How it works
Systematic exploitation of welcome bonuses, free spins, and promotional offers by creating multiple accounts, using fake identities, or employing automated play to extract value without genuine gambling intent. Fraudsters create dozens or hundreds of accounts using synthetic identities, VPNs, and device spoofing. They claim the same welcome bonus repeatedly, play minimum required amounts to unlock withdrawals, and cash out. Some use bots to automate the process across hundreds of platforms.
On the record
Industry estimates suggest bonus abuse can reach 10% of annual gross revenue for some iGaming operators. The practice is widespread and increasingly automated.
