Surveillance Intelligence Asia operates on a single principle: every claim must be traceable to its source. What follows is how we operationalize that principle: the verification tiers, sourcing rules, corrections policy, contributor standards and editorial independence boundaries that govern every page on this site.

How we grade evidence: four-tier verification

Every fact-bearing entry on the site carries one of four badges. The badge tells the reader what kind of claim they are reading, before they read a word of it.

• Verified

  Drawn from a government, regulator, court, intergovernmental document or from a listed company’s own regulatory filing. The source is named and linked.

• Reported

  Drawn from established reporting or awaiting independent regulator confirmation: credible, but provisional. Anything that cannot meet the Verified test is marked this way and says so plainly.

• Analysis

  Professional commentary by a named contributor. Clearly marked as opinion: never presented as fact.

• Advisory

  Professional guidance drawn from operational experience: recommendations and practice rather than factual claims. This content carries the toolkit line and The Desk.

Sourcing standards

• Primary source preference: government, regulator, court and intergovernmental documents, and a listed company’s own regulatory filings, take precedence over secondary reporting.

• Dual source rule for material claims: two independent sources required before a claim is published as fact.

• On the record: no anonymous claims unless legal or safety considerations justify it, and only with editor sign-off.

• Full attribution: every fact-bearing entry names where it came from.

• Context preservation: quotes, dates and figures must not be detached from the circumstances that give them meaning.

Corrections

• Material errors fixed within 24 hours, with an editor’s note appended showing what changed.

• Clerical errors (typos, formatting) fixed silently.

• Correction requests reviewed within 48 hours of receipt.

• A public correction log is maintained at /corrections.

Contributors

• Direct industry experience required for surveillance, compliance and operations contributions.

• Conflict-of-interest disclosure on every byline, kept current.

• Adherence to the four-tier verification badge system on every fact-bearing claim.

• Editorial review before publication: no contributor publishes directly.

Prohibited content

• No consumer gambling tips, betting strategies, or odds-style content.

• No promotion of gambling to the general public.

• No unverified rumors presented as fact.

• Nothing that compromises active security operations or facilitates fraud.

Editorial independence

• No advertising from gambling operators.

• Revenue comes from products, subscriptions and consulting: never from advertisers with editorial influence.
