Dice Setting / Arranging

How it works

Before throwing, the shooter carefully arranges the dice in a specific orientation believed to influence the outcome. Common sets include: the Hardway Set (hardway numbers 4, 6, 8, 10 face up - reduces 7 probability); the 3V Set (threes in a V formation - targets 6s and 8s); the All-7 Set (configurations adding to 7 are adjacent - targets 7s on come-out); the 2V Set (targets 5s and 9s); Crossed Sixes (focuses on rolling sixes); and the Flying V. The theory is that if the dice stay on the set axis during the throw, certain combinations can be favored or avoided. Casinos generally allow dice setting but may ban players who are too systematic or time-consuming in their setup.
