Roulette Computer Prediction
How it works
Using concealed electronic devices to measure ball and wheel speed to predict the approximate landing zone of the roulette ball, giving players a significant mathematical edge. One team member clicks a concealed switch (often in a shoe) timing the ball’s passage past a reference point. A microcomputer calculates likely landing octants based on physics models of deceleration and rotor speed. Predictions are transmitted via vibrations to a second team member who places bets.

The Eudaemons—UC Santa Cruz physics students led by J. Doyne Farmer and Norman Packard—built the first wearable computer in a shoe in the late 1970s. They achieved an estimated 20-44% advantage over the house and won approximately $10,000 before disbanding due to hardware malfunctions (including solenoid burns) and fear of casino violence.
