Secure, restricted-access rooms specifically designated for counting the gaming revenue collected from table games drop boxes and slot machine cash boxes. Casinos maintain separate count rooms for different types of revenue: the soft count room handles currency and paper instruments, while the hard count room handles coins and tokens. Count rooms are subject to the strictest security protocols in the casino, including dual-control procedures, pocketless garments, continuous surveillance coverage, and restricted access.
