Gaming Inspector (Regulatory)

A government employee or contractor employed by the gaming regulatory agency (e.g., Nevada Gaming Control Board, New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement, Macau DICJ, Singapore Gambling Regulatory Authority) who is physically present in the casino to monitor compliance with gaming laws and regulations. Gaming Inspectors observe game operations, verify internal controls, investigate complaints, review surveillance systems, audit financial records, and have the authority to issue citations, impose fines, or recommend license actions against the casino or individual employees.
In practice
Gaming inspectors are not casino employees – they are representatives of the regulatory authority. Their presence is a condition of the casino’s operating license. In Macau, DICJ inspectors are a constant presence in all gaming areas.
