Mini / Minor / Major / Grand Jackpot

Slot Mechanics

A tiered progressive jackpot structure common on linked-progressive slot machines, offering multiple jackpot levels with different hit frequencies and award amounts. The Mini jackpot is the smallest and hits most frequently; Minor is the next tier; Major is a substantial award; and Grand (or Mega) is the top-tier, life-changing jackpot. Each tier has its own seed value, meter rise rate, and must-hit-by threshold (where applicable). The multi-tier structure creates multiple moments of excitement and caters to different player psychologies. Operations teams track each tier’s performance independently to ensure meter accuracy and appropriate hit frequency.

In practice

Aristocrat’s Lightning Link and Dragon Link series popularized this structure. In Asia-Pacific markets, these games are particularly prominent in VIP and premium gaming areas.
