Armored Truck Heist at Casino

How it works

Criminals target the armored trucks that transport cash to and from casinos for ATM replenishment, vault transfers, and bank deposits. The most famous case is the 1993 Heather Tallchief / Circus Circus heist: Tallchief, a 21-year-old Loomis Armored truck driver, drove away from Circus Circus Casino in Las Vegas with $3.1 million in cash while her coworkers were inside servicing ATMs. She and her boyfriend Roberto Solis (a convicted murderer 27 years her senior) had meticulously planned the heist for months. Tallchief surrendered in 2005 after 12 years as a fugitive; Solis remains at large.
