How it works

A cage cashier steals cash or chips directly from their drawer or during transactions. Methods include: palming chips during payouts, voiding legitimate transactions and pocketing the difference, creating fictitious payouts to accomplices, manipulating transaction records to cover shortages, or processing unauthorized refunds. The cashier may work alone or with an accomplice who presents at the window for fictitious transactions.
