Floor Supervisor-Player Collusion (Rating Manipulation)

How it works

A floor supervisor or pit boss falsifies a player’s rated play data — inflating average bet sizes, extending session durations, or recording play that didn’t occur — to generate higher comp eligibility for an accomplice player. The inflated ratings result in excessive complimentary benefits (rooms, meals, cashback) that are then shared between the employee and the player. This fraud is particularly insidious because it manipulates data upstream of comp issuance, making detection through normal comp auditing difficult.

Rating manipulation has been documented across multiple jurisdictions. The move toward automated player tracking (card-based systems) has reduced but not eliminated this vulnerability, as manual overrides and corrections remain possible.
