Quantum Communication Cheating (Theoretical)

How it works

A theoretical exploit using quantum entanglement to allow colluding players to share information about cards without classical communication channels, potentially gaining an advantage over the house. (Theoretical) Two players share entangled quantum systems. Measurements on one system instantaneously correlate with the other, potentially allowing coordination of strategies in ways that exceed classical limits. Currently laboratory-only with no practical casino application.

MIT and Caltech researchers published a 2020 paper in Physical Review A showing that quantum communication could theoretically give blackjack players a slight advantage over classical card-counting strategies in limited situations with very few cards remaining.
