Remote Game Server (RGS) Manipulation

How it works

Attacks on the backend servers that deliver game outcomes to online and mobile casino platforms, potentially allowing hackers to alter results, trigger jackpots, or manipulate RNG streams. Hackers penetrate the RGS infrastructure through compromised credentials, supply chain attacks, or unpatched vulnerabilities. Once inside, they may alter game logic, inject rigged outcomes, or intercept and modify data between server and client.

While major RGS breaches are rarely publicized, the SBTech ransomware incident during the DraftKings merger demonstrated how gaming infrastructure compromise can paralyze operations. Supply chain attacks remain a top concern.
