Beneficial Owner

AML/CFT

The natural person who ultimately owns, controls, or benefits from a legal entity, trust, account, or transaction, regardless of the named account holder or legal owner. Identifying the beneficial owner is a critical AML requirement because criminals often use shell companies, nominees, and complex corporate structures to conceal their involvement. Casinos must establish policies and procedures to identify and verify the beneficial owners of corporate accounts, front money deposits, and other business relationships, particularly when the customer is a legal entity rather than an individual.
