Corner Bet (Square Bet)

An inside bet placed on the intersection of four numbers on the betting layout, covering all four numbers simultaneously. The chip is placed at the corner where four numbers meet. A winning corner bet pays 8:1. In European roulette, the house edge is 2.70%; in American roulette, it is 5.26%. This bet is also known as a “Carré” in French roulette terminology. Corner bets are commonly used by players to cover multiple numbers with fewer chips, particularly when building coverage patterns across the layout.
