An inside bet placed on the line separating two adjacent numbers on the betting layout, covering both numbers simultaneously. A winning split bet pays 17:1. Splits can be placed on any two numbers that are adjacent either horizontally or vertically on the layout. In French roulette, this bet is called “À Cheval.” The split bet is one of the most commonly used inside bets, allowing players to cover pairs of numbers with a single chip. It is particularly popular in combination betting strategies where players cover multiple adjacent numbers.
