Double Odds
Craps
An odds bet that is up to double the amount of the original pass line, don’t pass, come, or don’t come wager. The term “double odds” refers to the casino’s maximum allowed odds multiplier. Many modern casinos offer higher odds multiples: 3x-4x-5x odds (the most common in Las Vegas), 5x odds, 10x odds, or even 100x odds at some properties. The odds bet is the only wager in the casino that pays true odds with no house edge, making it the most favorable bet for players. Casinos offering higher odds use this as a marketing tool to attract experienced craps players, though the theoretical impact on casino revenue is minimal since odds bets are made after the house-edge flat bet is already established.
