License Plate Recognition (LPR)
Security Technology
A specialized camera and software system that automatically captures and reads vehicle license plates entering and exiting the casino property. LPR systems are deployed at parking garage entrances, loading docks, valet areas, and perimeter gates to create a log of all vehicle movements. In casino applications, LPR supports parking management, security investigations, banned patron enforcement, and coordination with law enforcement.
In practice
LPR cameras must overcome challenging conditions including headlight glare, motion blur, and weather; modern systems use infrared illumination for 24/7 capture capability.
