RFID (Radio Frequency Identification)

A wireless technology that uses radio waves to identify and track objects equipped with RFID tags or transponders. In casino applications, RFID is primarily embedded in gaming chips to enable real-time tracking of chip location, denomination, authenticity verification, and wager recording. RFID readers are installed beneath gaming tables (smart tables) and at cage positions to read chip data automatically without human intervention.
In practice
RFID chip technology has become standard in major Asian casinos; Macau properties process over 100,000 RFID-tracked chips daily at high-traffic tables.
