Snake Eyes

Craps

Slang for a roll of 2 (two ones, or 1-1), so named because the single pip on each die resembles a pair of eyes, and the overall appearance suggests snake eyes. A roll of snake eyes is a losing craps number on the come-out roll for pass line bets, a winning roll for don’t pass bets, and pays 30:1 as a proposition bet on 2. The stickman typically calls “snake eyes” or “aces” when 2 is rolled. Snake eyes is the least likely dice combination, occurring with a probability of 2.78% (1 out of 36 combinations).
