Source of Funds (SOF)
AML/CFT
The origin of the specific funds used in a particular transaction or gambling session. SOF verification involves understanding where the money came from for that specific occasion, such as salary, business income, asset sale proceeds, or gambling winnings from another casino. SOF checks are a critical component of Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) and are required when a customer’s transactions are unusually large, inconsistent with their known profile, or otherwise raise red flags. Casinos typically request documentation such as bank statements, pay slips, or sale contracts to verify SOF.
