Toke
Craps
Casino slang for a tip or gratuity given to dealers, either as a direct hand-in or as a wager placed on behalf of the dealers. “Hand-in” tokes are given directly to the dealer and placed in the toke box. Two-way bets (also called “for the boys” or “for the crew”) are bets placed for both the player and the dealers in equal amounts; if the bet wins, both the player and the dealers collect winnings. Tokes are a significant component of dealer compensation in most North American casinos, and dealers rely heavily on player generosity. Some jurisdictions have specific rules governing the handling and distribution of tokes.
