A one-roll proposition bet that the next roll of the dice will be 2, 3, or 12 (the “craps” numbers). The bet pays 7:1 (or occasionally 8:1 at some casinos) and has a house edge of 11.11%. The Any Craps bet is typically placed in the center proposition area of the craps layout and is handled by the stickman. This bet is commonly used by players as a hedge to protect their pass line bets during the come-out roll; a player might bet Any Craps to offset the loss when a craps number is rolled on the come-out. The high house edge makes it a poor value proposition for the player but highly profitable for the casino.
