Boxman / Boxperson

Dealers / Craps Crew

The senior supervisor at a craps table, seated between the two base dealers and opposite the stickman. The Boxman is responsible for overseeing all casino funds at the table, monitoring the accuracy of all payoffs and collections, settling disputes, verifying dice integrity, watching for cheating, and approving player credit. The Boxman is a key employee position and often wears a suit rather than a dealer uniform, distinguishing them as supervisory personnel. The Boxman’s word is typically final on all table-level disputes.

In practice

On especially busy tables or during high-limit play, two boxmen may be assigned. The Boxman is one of the most security-sensitive positions in the casino, given the large amount of cash and chips concentrated at a craps table.
