Copy

Baccarat (also Poker)

In Pai Gow Poker and Pai Gow Tiles, when both the player and banker have hands of identical rank, the banker wins all “copy” hands by rule. In baccarat, a copy or “standoff” occurs when player and banker hands have the same total, resulting in a push on player and banker bets.

In practice

The “banker wins copies” rule is a fundamental house edge component in all Pai Gow games. Surveillance must ensure dealers correctly identify and resolve copy hands.
