Push
Baccarat
A tie result where both player and banker hands have identical totals. On a push, all player and banker bets are returned to the bettors (they neither win nor lose), while tie bets are paid at 8:1 or 9:1 depending on the casino. In EZ Baccarat, a push also occurs when the banker wins with a three-card 7.
In practice
Also known as “standoff” in British and Australian terminology. Surveillance must verify that pushes are correctly resolved and that no bets are inadvertently collected or paid on push outcomes.
