Standoff

Baccarat

British and Australian term for a tie or push, where the player and banker hands have equal totals. All player and banker bets are returned on a standoff. The term is used interchangeably with “push” in most jurisdictions. Standoff also refers to a specific Cheval bet outcome where one player wins and the other loses.

In practice

In some contexts, “standoff” specifically means the Cheval bet scenario where players split results, while “tie” refers to the player/banker hand equality.
