Even Bet

Roulette

An outside bet wagering that the winning number will be one of the 18 even numbers (2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, 14, 16, 18, 20, 22, 24, 26, 28, 30, 32, 34, 36). This is an even-money bet paying 1:1. In French roulette, this bet is called “Pair.” The bet loses on zero (and double zero in American roulette). When combined with the en prison or la partage rule, the effective house edge drops to 1.35%, making it statistically one of the best bets available to players.
