An outside bet wagering that the winning number will be one of the 18 odd numbers (1, 3, 5, 7, 9, 11, 13, 15, 17, 19, 21, 23, 25, 27, 29, 31, 33, 35). This is an even-money bet paying 1:1. In French roulette, this bet is called “Impair.” The bet loses on zero and double zero. When combined with La Partage or En Prison rules, the house edge drops to 1.35%. The odd bet is functionally identical to the even bet in terms of probability and payout.
