Outside Bet
Roulette
A category of roulette wagers placed on the perimeter of the betting layout, outside the numbered grid. Outside bets cover larger groups of numbers and offer lower payouts but higher probabilities of winning compared to inside bets. Standard outside bets include Red/Black, Even/Odd, High/Low (each paying 1:1), Column bets (paying 2:1), and Dozen bets (paying 2:1). The maximum bet limits for outside bets are typically higher than for inside bets due to the lower payout liability. All outside bets lose when zero (or double zero in American roulette) is spun.
