Surrender (Casino War)
Other Table Games
One of the two options available to a Casino War player when their initial card ties the dealer’s card. If the player chooses to surrender, they forfeit half of their original wager and the hand ends immediately. Surrendering has a slightly higher expected loss than going to war (house edge approximately 2.88% vs. 2.33% for going to war), making it the mathematically inferior option. However, risk-averse players may prefer surrendering to avoid the possibility of losing their full wager plus the war wager. The surrender option is a defining feature of Casino War and creates the primary strategic decision in the game.
