Teen

Asian Card Games (Pai Gow Tiles)

The name of the highest-ranking single tile in Pai Gow Tiles, represented by the [6-6] domino (double six). The Teen tile has a numeric value of 12 (counted as 2 in hand totals) but carries the highest symbolic rank. Paired with a nine, it forms a “Teen Wong”; paired with an eight, a “Teen Gong.”

In practice

The 32 Pai Gow tiles have symbolic rankings that do not follow numeric values. The Teen [6-6] outranks all other single tiles despite not having the highest pip count. New dealers spend weeks learning tile rankings.
