Whirl / World Bet

Craps

A five-unit one-roll proposition bet that combines the horn bet (2, 3, 11, 12) with an Any Seven bet, effectively covering 2, 3, 7, 11, and 12 on the next roll. The whirl bet pays different amounts depending on which number hits: 26:1 on 2 and 12, 11:1 on 3 and 11, and 4:1 on 7 (with losing units subtracted). The overall house edge is approximately 13.33%. The whirl/world bet is sometimes called “the five worst bets on the table combined into one convenient wager” because it merges five of the highest house-edge proposition bets. It is controlled by the stickman.

In practice

Some casinos use “whirl” and “world” interchangeably; others distinguish between them. The terminology varies by region and casino.
