Bill Validator Device (Fake Bill Scam)
How it works
A tool wrapped around a genuine low-denomination bill to trick a slot machine’s bill acceptor into registering it as a high-denomination bill, such as a $1 bill being read as $100. The cheater inserts a device-wrapped bill into the acceptor. The device confuses the optical sensors, causing the machine to credit the player with a higher amount than actually deposited. The player then cashes out the inflated credits.

Bill validator scams have targeted casinos across the U.S. since machines became coinless. The devices are regularly confiscated and added to the Nevada “Black Book” of cheating devices.
