Part II: Table Game Cheating · Dice & Craps Cheating Methods
Blanket Roll (Army Blanket Roll)
How it works
The easiest controlled throw to learn and historically one of the most profitable. The shooter sets the dice on a specific axis using a “Lock Grip,” then gently rolls them forward so they turn end-over-end around one axis in a cartwheel motion. This eliminates two sides of each die from landing face up, fundamentally changing the odds. The technique gets its name from World War II soldiers playing on soft surfaces (blankets, beds, rugs, soft dirt) where the dice could roll without bouncing erratically. The dice roll like a wheel, maintaining the set axis.

On the record
Used to scam millions of dollars from American GI craps players during both World Wars. Named after the literal army blankets used as playing surfaces in military barracks.
