Spin Shot / Whip Shot

How it works

A highly skilled controlled throw where the shooter grips the dice in a “Lock Grip” with desired numbers facing upward, gives a false rattle, then snaps the wrist forward like cracking a whip. The dice spin rapidly like spinning tops on their vertical axis without tumbling end-over-end along the horizontal axis. The dice then land with the desired faces upward. This shot requires extensive practice and is more commonly seen in private games or street craps where casino countermeasures are absent. Variations include the Greek Shot (against a backboard) and the Reverse Greek Shot (without a backboard).
