Slang — Player Classification

An “action player” is a gambler who consistently wagers aggressively, plays for extended periods, and generates significant handle regardless of wins or losses. Action players are highly valued by casinos because they maximize the theoretical win — the statistical house advantage applied to total wagers. These players may or may not be skilled, but their willingness to keep betting makes them profitable. Casinos often provide generous comps to action players to maintain their patronage.
