All-In

Poker

A situation where a player bets all their remaining chips on a single hand. In table stakes poker, a player cannot be forced to wager more than they have in front of them. If multiple players contest an all-in, a side pot is created for the additional bets. The all-in player can only win the main pot, which is capped at their bet amount multiplied by eligible players.

In practice

In casino poker games, dealers must carefully manage all-in situations, clearly announcing the main pot and any side pots. Surveillance should verify correct pot allocation, as disputes are common.
