Flop

Poker (Texas Hold’em, Omaha)

The first three community cards dealt face-up simultaneously in the center of the table, followed by the first round of betting after the initial deal. The flop, along with a player’s hole cards, forms the basis for initial hand evaluation. The term “flop” is also used as a verb: “the flop was 7-8-K.”

In practice

In casino poker games, the three flop cards are typically spread face-up simultaneously. If a flop card is exposed prematurely, the dealer must follow house procedures for a misdeal or exposed card.
