Turn
Poker (Texas Hold’em, Omaha)
The fourth community card dealt face-up in Texas Hold’em and Omaha, following the flop and preceding the river. The turn is also called “fourth street.” After the turn is dealt, a betting round ensues. The turn significantly alters hand possibilities and often determines whether drawing hands should continue or fold.
In practice
The turn is a critical decision point in no-limit games as pot sizes typically grow significantly. In casino poker games, the turn card is burned (discarded face-down) before being dealt, a procedure that must be followed precisely.
