The updated name of Macau’s gaming regulator, previously known as DICJ. The GGRAS continues to perform the same regulatory functions: supervising gaming concessionaires, licensing and monitoring gaming promoters, certifying gaming equipment and systems, enforcing the gaming law and related regulations, and conducting AML/CFT oversight. The name change reflects the bureau’s expanded research and analytical functions in addition to its inspection and coordination roles. Both terms (DICJ and GGRAS) are still used interchangeably in industry contexts.
