Goose
Other Table Games
Traditional keno slang for the mechanical blower device that mixes and dispenses the numbered balls during a live keno draw. The goose uses forced air to agitate the balls within a spherical or cylindrical chamber, with drawn balls rising through a tube (the “rabbit ears”) and being captured for display. The term “goose” is part of keno’s colorful historical vocabulary, much of which has faded from common use as electronic random number generators have largely replaced mechanical ball drawings in modern casino keno operations.
