Traditional keno played with physical tickets, crayons, and a mechanical ball draw (the “goose”), as opposed to video keno or electronic keno played on gaming machines. In live keno, 80 numbered balls are mixed in a blower device, and 20 balls are drawn and displayed. Live keno has declined significantly in popularity as electronic and video keno have become dominant, but it remains available in many traditional casino markets. The term “live keno” distinguishes the traditional format from RNG-based electronic versions.
