Part I: Games & Gaming · Card Games — Baccarat & Blackjack
Hit
Blackjack
A player’s request for an additional card from the dealer. The player may continue hitting until they either stand (choose to take no more cards) or bust (exceed 21). Signals for hitting vary by region: a finger tap on the felt in some jurisdictions, a hand scrape toward oneself in others.
In practice
Verbal calls alone are not always binding; players should use hand signals. Surveillance reviews confirm hand signals resolve disputes about player intent.
