Progressive Jackpot (Poker)

Poker

A growing jackpot funded by small incremental wagers from each hand played across multiple tables or casinos. Poker progressive jackpots are commonly offered on Caribbean Stud (for royal flushes) and Three Card Poker (for Mini Royals). The jackpot increases until a qualifying hand is hit, at which point it resets to a seed amount.

In practice

Progressive jackpots must be visibly displayed (metered) at the table or on a central display. Gaming regulations typically require that a portion of each progressive wager contributes to the jackpot and a portion to the seed. Surveillance must verify qualifying hands before progressive payouts and ensure meters are accurately updated.
