Bet Capping (Pressing)
How it works
A cheating maneuver where a player adds additional chips to a winning bet after the outcome is known but before the dealer collects or pays the bet. This is one of the most common sleight-of-hand cheats at table games. The cheater waits until their hand wins, then quickly places additional chips on top of the original bet while the dealer is distracted collecting losing wagers or paying other players. Expert cheaters use palming techniques and distraction to make the move undetectable to floor staff.

Common in blackjack and carnival games worldwide; professional cheat teams often work in pairs with one distracting the dealer while another caps the bet. Arrests occur regularly in Las Vegas, Atlantic City, and regional casinos.
