Part II: Table Game Cheating · Sports Book
Sportsbook Past-Posting
How it works
A sportsbook past-post is a wager taken after the event has started, or after it is over. The ticket looks ordinary. The clock does not. This is the sports book, not a bet slipped onto a table after the ball drops. It needs someone inside the book who can enter or pay a wager the system should have refused.

On the record
The Nevada Appeal of 16 October 2019 reported guilty pleas in Douglas County District Court. Ashley D. Dean, a manager at the William Hill sports books at MontBleu and the Hard Rock, and Richard Fuentes Jr. admitted a scheme, from 22 September to 4 November 2018, of bets placed after football games had started. Agents found 74 wagers, of more than $1 million, on Fuentes’s card, and 31 winning tickets amounting to $234,435. That article is the plea hearing. Sentencing was set for a later date, and this entry does not state a sentence.
