Chemin de Fer

BaccaratREPORTED

A European variant of baccarat where the role of banker rotates among players, who must cover all bets placed against them. Players may choose whether to draw a third card or stand, introducing an element of skill absent in Punto Banco. The name is French for “railway,” referencing the movement of the bank around the table like a train.

In practice

Rare in Asia-Pacific but still found in some European VIP rooms. The player-banker dynamic creates different surveillance considerations regarding collusion and player banking.
