33. Central Credit (CC)
Credit & Markers
Central Credit is the gaming industry’s specialized credit reporting service that enables casinos to share information about players’ credit histories, marker activity, and repayment records across multiple properties. When a player applies for casino credit, the casino queries Central Credit to review the player’s credit activity at other participating casinos, including outstanding balances, payment history, and any collection actions. Central Credit serves as the casino equivalent of consumer credit bureaus (Experian, Equifax, TransUnion), but is specific to the gaming industry. The system helps casinos make informed credit decisions and identify players who may have overextended themselves across multiple properties.
In practice
Central Credit, LLC operates as the primary gaming credit bureau in the United States. Not all casinos participate, and information sharing is governed by applicable privacy laws.
