42. Ticket Redemption Machine (TRM)

TITO Systems

A Ticket Redemption Machine (TRM), also known as a Cash Redemption Terminal (CRT), is a self-service kiosk located on the casino floor that allows patrons to exchange TITO ticket vouchers for cash. TRMs scan the ticket’s barcode, communicate with the central TITO server to validate the ticket, dispense the appropriate amount of cash in bills, and retain the voucher for later accounting. TRMs reduce cage workload, improve customer convenience, and enable 24/7 redemption availability. The machines maintain internal transaction logs and are monitored by surveillance. TRM cash levels must be replenished regularly, and collected vouchers are transported to the count room for reconciliation.

In practice

In Australia, TRMs are commonly called Credit Redemption Terminals (CRTs). TRM transactions are typically included in the soft count process along with drop box contents.
