Part III: Business & Regulation · Casino Marketing & Player Management
ATL / ATT (Average Trip Theoretical / Average Trip Theoretical)
Player Tracking & Rating
The average theoretical win generated by a player per casino trip, calculated by dividing total theo by the number of trips (visits). ATL is particularly relevant for destination casino markets and cruise ship casinos where the trip (rather than the day) is the primary unit of player activity. While ADT normalizes by gaming days, ATL normalizes by discrete visits, making it useful for evaluating players who may play multiple days per trip. Cruise casinos and resort properties often base their offer generation on ATL rather than ADT.
In practice
ATL and ATT are used interchangeably in industry practice. Some systems also track ATW (Average Trip Worth), which incorporates actual win/loss data alongside theoretical metrics.
